Bad Weather

To minimise the chance of adverse weather affecting your trip on ascents we offer weather contingency days, free of charge.  In the case of very adverse weather we will endeavour to make the best of the situation with alternative plans, venues and poor weather activites.  No refund will be given even if we are unable to complete any alpine based activites.  If the weather or conditions prevent us from returning from the mountains on time, hut fees will be at an additional cost.


There will be no refund given if your trip is cancelled or cut short due to weather, lack of fitness, injury, illness, uncontrollable events or unforeseen circumstances.

Re-scheduling the dates for your trip will be subject to availability.  We will do our best to accommodate you, but in the event that is not possible there will be no entitlement to a refund. See cancellation costs below.


We strongly recommend taking a comprehensive travel policy for New Zealand. Check to see whether the terms of the policy offered by your insurance provider cover cancellation costs which is highly recommended.

Payment Terms & cancellation costs

A deposit of 50% is required to confirm your booking for courses and NZD$1000 for ascents. Full payment must be received 30 days before the start of your trip. If you cancel your booking payments will be refunded as below:

Courses, if cancelled 60 to 30 days before the course start date the refund will be 50% of the deposit

Ascents, if cancelled 60 to 30 days before the trip start date no refund of the deposit

If cancelled less than 30 days before the trip start date no refund will be given.

If Covid-19 travel restrictions mean you are unable to attend, or the course cannot run a full refund will be given.
