Bad Weather

To minimise the chance of adverse weather affecting your trip on ascents we offer weather contingency days, free of charge.  In the case of very adverse weather we will endeavour to make the best of the situation with alternative plans, venues and poor weather activities.  No refund will be given even if we are unable to complete any alpine based activities.  If the weather or conditions prevent us from returning from the mountains on time, hut fees will be at an additional cost.

For day trips; when the outcome of the day will be grossly effected and if an alternative date cannot be found a full refund will be given. e.g. heavy rain for an ascent or rock climbing or high winds ski touring however not flat light.

Cancellations

There will be no refund given if your trip is cancelled or cut short due to lack of fitness, injury, illness, uncontrollable events or unforeseen weather or circumstances once the trip has begun.

Re-scheduling the trip prior to it’s start date will on a case by case basis and is subject to availability. In the event that is not possible see cancellation costs below.

Insurance

We strongly recommend taking a comprehensive travel policy for New Zealand if coming from overseas. Check to see whether the terms of the policy offered by your insurance provider cover “trip cancellation costs” as this is what you will need if you have to cancel. In NZ trip cancellation insurance is available from the NZ alpine club

Payment Terms & cancellation costs

A non refundable deposit of 20% is required to confirm your booking. If the trip cost is less than $1000 full payment must be made to book. For trips over $1000 full payment must be received 60 days before the start of your trip. When booking within 60 days of the trip start date, full payment is required to confirm the trip.

If you cancel your trip payments will be refunded as below:

60 days or more before the trip a full refund less deposit.

If cancelled 59 to 30 days before the course start date the refund will be 50% of the trip cost

If cancelled less than 30 days before the trip start date no refund will be given.

We recommend loss of deposit/ trip cancellation insurance. In NZ trip cancellation insurance is available from
www.healthandtravel.co.nz contact sandra@healthandtravel.co.nz. It is around NZ$200

Payments

Must be made in NZ dollars and invoices will be sent via Xero from Peak Experience Ltd.  Credit card cost will be covered by the client.
